3D Printing for Higher Quality

Basically, 3D printing is a manufacturing process in which material is laid down, layer by layer, to create a three-dimensional object, which enables the possibility to produce complex shapes, using less material than traditional  manufacturing methods.

In the newly relaunch of HRD30 Rock Drill, 3D print played a central role in the development and testing process. 3D printed parts were used when the rock drill was tested in the field, which gave a realistic experience of working with the final tool. By using 3D printed parts, it was possible to make a lot of small adjustments on a complex object, before making a big investment in the final production.

The 3D printers are here to stay and will contribute to a faster development and design process, when creating and adjusting new tools and features.

This ensures that the quality and function of HYCON tools is always at its best!
