How to maintain your HRS400 ring saw

A ring saw is specialist equipment, and it requires more maintenance and care than a typical cut off saw. There are more spaces slurry can build up and solidify, locking up the saw before the next use. To make your ring saw last longer and cut smoother, you should follow these simple steps after every use of the saw.

1. After every cut, let the blade spin freely for at least 30 seconds
   This will clear out the worst build-up in the rollers.
   
   
2. When you're finished for the day, rinse of both sides of the saw as much as possible
   This will rinse away most of the grime and slurry and prevents the build-up solidifying before next use.
   
   
3. Spary all parts with WD-40 for lubrication, degreasing, and rust prevention

Doing all these steps every time lets you use the saw for much longer without having to do any major maintenance. Build over time is still inevitable. That's why we recommend dismounting the blade, drive wheel, and rollers every six months or 100 hours of use to clean the saw properly. Despite a ring saw and a cut-off saw looking similar superficially with a spinning blade or disc, the two types of saw function in fundamentally different ways. While the cutting disc of a cut-off saw spins around a central axle, a driving wheel on the perimeter of the blade powers a ring blade. That is what gives the ring saw its unparalleled cutting depth of 300 mm on a Ø400 mm blade. But it also affects how the blade is mounted and tightened.

Mounting a ring blade is a 9-step process with adjustments along the way. That process can seem overly complicated without a simple guide. That's why we made this video. This tutorial goes through the entire process as a blade is mounted so you can follow along at your own pace. 

Over time, the build up of slurry, grime, and concrete in the rollers is inevitable. That's why we recommend disassembling the saw every 6 months or 100 hours of operation to perform a deep clean.
